Buslovers The G9B is a vertical 9.4-litre in-line six-cylinder gas engine producing 300 hp, equipped with a turbocharger and intercooler. The engine easily meets the EU standards for exhaust emissions according to Euro 5 and EEV.
The G9B is an in-line six-cylinder gas engine with a displacement of 9.4 litres, featuring a turbocharger and intercooler. The G9B is in essence Volvo’s D9B diesel engine modified to run on gas, either CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) or biogas. Using gas as a fuel considerably reduces emissions of harmful exhaust substances at the same time as the engine operates more quietly. The G9B is a Euro 5 engine certified to the EEV (Enhanced Environmentally friendly Vehicle) emission standard. Its emissions are below the limit stipulated for EEV, which has even stricter demands on parameters such as particle emissions

The G9B is equipped with electronic engine management. The system
adapts power output to suit gas quality and calculates the optimal gas
mix and ignition settings in response to every engine load, speed and temperature variation. Like the D9B, the G9B has an overhead camshaft and four valves per cylinder as well as a single cylinder head. However, the gas engine features modifications to the cylinder head, pistons, valves and valve
seats. The inlet manifold too has been modified for gas power, and the
spark plugs are of a special type.
Owing to its extremely low exhaust emissions, the G9B engine is particularly suitable for operations in vulnerable environments
